A racer’s ego can be a powerful and unyielding force. In some circumstances that can be a good thing, but it can also make you fight to be right instead of honestly and objectively evaluating a situation. This can lead to missing, ignoring, or dismissing critical lessons that you must learn to progress. Lie to your crew chief, lie to your instructor, lie to whoever you feel you must, but when evaluating your performance, and especially your mistakes, be honest with yourself.
